Innovative design features of the ADAPT ortho-k lens
1. Wavefront-guided treatment zone which is designed to re-shape the cornea to its native aspheric profile
2. Reduced optic zone diameter if required when the treatment is dedicated to myopia control; this is combined with a unique A-Step myopic defocus reverse zone.
3. The alignment zone is aspheric based on the individual patient topography to ensure best possible on-eye alignment during overnight wear.
WAVEFRONT-GUIDED TREATMENT ZONE
The treatment zone has a wavefront-guided aspheric profile based on the original corneal topography.
The intended benefits of this are:
1. to provide improved quality of vision due to the reduced spherical aberration, especially for larger pupil diameters; and
2. to reduce low light vision disturbances, especially if the refractive error corrected is high and the pupil size is large
CUSTOMIZED ALIGNMENT ZONE
It is acknowledged that the fit of the alignment zone is the most significant aspect of lens design contributing to proper lens centration.
The ADAPT lens re-invents the way in which the alignment zone is calculated. It is aspheric, having a profile calculated by sampling the original corneal topography in the alignment area to ensure best possible alignment during overnight wear.
